20 Years of Craft and Community

Marking two decades of hands-on excellence in handmade bicycle frame construction.

We are delighted to announce that the Bohemian Framebuilding School is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026. For twenty years we’ve welcomed aspiring framebuilders from around the world to our workshop-studio in Tucson, AZ, and we’re excited to recognize this milestone with our community of past and future students, instructors, and friends of the craft.

What Makes Our Program Special

From our very first workshop we set out to offer a learning experience that is serious, immersive, and personal. At the heart of our school is a simple but powerful formula: small groups, expert guidance, real frames built from start to finish. We maintain an instructor-to-student ratio of just 2 students to 1 instructor so that each participant receives direct, individualized attention from experienced master framebuilders.

Our intensive workshop covers everything from geometry and tubing selection to brazing, alignment, finishing, and shop practices. Whether you are a hobbyist, a custom builder or a metal-working professional looking to specialize, our curriculum delivers results. Over the years our students have left the program with not just a finished frame, but a deep understanding of the full build process and the confidence to go on to craft their own work.

A Truly Global Craft Community

In the past two decades the school has welcomed participants from across Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and more than twenty U.S. states. Our alumni list reads like a world map of frame-builders and enthusiasts and we’re proud of the diverse community that we’ve developed together.

This global reach means that when you walk into our workshop, you’re not just learning metal-shaping and welding — you’re joining an international network of makers who share a passion for hand-built bicycles, geometry, and good metalwork.
